A Development Process – Resulting In A Unique Company And Products
UAV has become a sought after technology in the military world – and companies and governmental organisations around the world start to reconsider whether it is their people that need to be airborne, or just their equipment. Everywhere, new applications for unmanned aerial vehicles are introduced almost on a daily basis. But what makes a specific UAV helicopter better than others? Much of the answer to this question is in the story of its origination. So here is ours.
A Passion For Technology
The powerful helicopters that HighEye builds today, originate from a passion for technology: almost thirty years ago Jan Verhagen, founding father of HighEye, had the wish to build a well-flying helicopter. It took him several years to accomplish this task to his own satisfaction. No mean feat, given the materials and technology of the time.
he Highest Technical Demands As A Starting Point The real challenge came after his helicopters had drawn the attention of Hollywood. Could he please build a remote controlled helicopter that was able to handle a professional camera of about 8 kilograms? He accepted the challenge, succeeded in creating a small, professional unmanned and remotely controlled helicopter, along with high quality pan and tilt units. From the onset, the challenge was to build exceptionally stable, reliable and versatile equipment. This was mandatory, given its task: filming. Film rushes with shaky images can’t be sold. You can rest assured: these images are still sold every day, and they don’t shake.
Ever Stronger, Ever Lighter
In the years to come, the helicopters were used to build up HighEye, a company that specialized in incredible camera shots, delivered by unmanned helicopters. In the following decades, ever lighter, ever stronger materials became available. The possibilities of electronics and computers boomed, while their sizes shrank. All the time, HighEye kept developing ever better unmanned helicopters, always looking for possibilities to reduce weight, increase power, reliability and stability.
The result today is a comprehensive range of extensively used, intensively tested unmanned helicopters.
Excellent Own Weight – Payload Ratio
Whether you call them mini helicopters or unmanned helicopters or simply robot helicopters, it is the specifications that really make the difference. The one specification mainly determining the range of possible applications is the ratio between the own weight of the system and the maximum weight it can lift. Roughly speaking, the difference between these two determines what it can lift for you, and for how long.
It Is The Specs That Count
HighEye helicopters are fully optimized and offer great specifications. It will have no problem lifting your cameras, sensors or other gear, along with plenty of fuel to do that for a long time. HighEye helicopters offer specifications like the ability to lift weights bigger than their own; flight times of up to 8 hours; effortless cruise speeds up to 130 km/h; the ability to lift up to 20 kg; autonomous precision flights of more than 200 kilometres; altitudes up to 3000 meter; being light and small enough to be handled, flown and operated by a single person and to fit in an estate car: all you need to do is fold back the wings.
Safety First
Due to the long flight history of the several types of HighEye, our helicopters excel in reliability and technical safety. Thanks to advanced flight automation in combination with GPS, flying a HighEye helicopter is easy. It will take-off, hover and cruise fully automated along a route that can be planned using e.g. Google Earth. Push-button control makes the helicopter easy to handle. The overall safety of any application of our helicopters is mainly determined by the human factor. Therefore, training of pilots and maintenance specialists is an absolute necessity. HighEye and its training partners provide all necessary training that allows users to employ their helicopters in a safe and efficient way.
High Eye UAV’s are a reliable part of your projects
Our helicopters are custom built and test flown professional UAV’s. They combine unequalled specifications with high reliability and very convenient maintenance intervals of several hundreds of hours.
We’re pleased to help you with the right machine for the job
Choosing the right lightweight UAV for the job will be a new challenge for many buyers. HighEye offers professional advice in order to help you choose the best machine for your application.
Supporting Customers with Innovative Solutions
The world is only just beginning to discover the wealth of applications of reliable UAV helicopters. As the size and weight of all sorts of sensing and observation equipment diminishes, their possibilities expand. And so do the applications that can be realised with HighEye helicopters. HighEye offers customers a range of helicopters, with a range of specifications that allow a wide variety of applications. We’re also able to build helicopters for custom applications. And of course, HighEye offers professional advice in order to help customers choose the best machine for their application.
High Quality Europe Based Production and Global Services
HighEye helicopters are produced using aircraft grade materials, in cooperation with certified production partners. The main production facilities are in the Netherlands. Our helicopters can be produced one of a kind, as well as in series.
